Scheduling anxieties.

I'm currently in the process of deciding which classes I need to take for the upcoming spring semester. Should I focus on taking core requirements or on taking major specific, journalism classes?

When scheduling in the past, I have usually attempted to get as many core classes out of the way as possible. But then I end up with a monotonous course load that leaves me feeling out of touch with my future career in journalism.

Spanish and business management classes are less than inspiring to say the least.

During this past fall semester, I've felt overwhelmed but at the same time unaccomplished. I know I've completed 15 credit hours but I don't think I've made any strides towards establishing myself as a journalist. I have yet to define what it is I want to do or find out what I'm passionate about in regard to a specific niche in journalism.

Hopefully, this upcoming semester I will be exposed to different aspects of journalism (i.e. feature writing) and I'll be able to get a more of a concrete sense of what direction I want to take in journalism.
